CUPSA supports member jurisdictions' pursuit and development of effective and proportional regulation and supervision of the credit union and caisse populaire sector. Its three broad strategic goals are to:

• Facilitate coordination and communication among regulatory authorities;
• Establish appropriate and effective regulatory principles taking into consideration provincial, national and international best practices; and
• Facilitate learning and development opportunities to assist CUPSA members and their employees fulfill their mandate.
